AIA is pleased to host a screening of “Hafu”, a film about the new generation of mixed-race Japanese, on Saturday, May 31 at the Nigiwai Kōryūkan AU in Akita City.
Mixed-race Japanese celebrities have captured the attention of the Japanese public of late, appearing in countless TV programs and magazines. However, mixed-race Japanese seldom have the chance to talk about the difficulties and complications they face living in Japanese society. This documentary film depicts Japan through their eyes. It challenges us to broaden our perspective of cultural identity in this rapidly internationalizing society.

※ High school students will be required to show their ID at the ticket counter.
※ AIA will cease ticket sales if the number of patrons exceeds the capacity of the Multipurpose Hall (250 people).
